"I've got stuff, you've got stuff, all of God's people got stuff." -Dr. Terry Wardle
This quote capsulizes the foundation of what to expect. Expect to be treated as a normal person, dealing with difficult stuff. We are not our disorders or disabilities. We are individuals who have "got stuff."
Up front there are several documents that need to be completed and signed. Insurance or self-pay agreements to sign including a resonsible party form, privacy policy form and a health insurance release for those choosing to use insurance.
While counseling is designed to promote emotional healing and freedom - we have to have "little hurts to heal the big hurts." - Mr. Paul R. White LCSW, talking about our pain is never something we enjoy - but talking about our pain is the first step to healing.

"In my 20+ years as a foster parent, I've been to many many counseling services. When I say yours is the best by far you can believe I've had several to compare you to. Warmth, comfort, friendship, compassion, sincerity, professionals and more describe Sojourners. We are extremely happy here. When I was told no one could be recommended to counsel me or my family, Kyle stepped right up and filled my hopeless, empty, void. I thank God for you all and deeply appreciate your time and efforts. Keep blessing us and all those you encounter and may God continue to richly bless all of you!"
“During my internship with Kyle Kershner, I gained knowledge and experience working with children and families. Kyle provided guidance throughout my internship to help me to develop effective counseling skills. I hope to use this knowledge and skills in my own mental health practice one day.”
