Philosophy of Counseling
I believe my role as a counselor is to walk along side of my clients on their journey to mental, emotional and spiritual wellness. My approach is not “what is wrong with you?” but “what has happened to you?” Sometimes life throws us a curve ball and we are not equipped to deal with the consequences. I consider a counselor to be a caregiver for the soul. Counseling is a process, not an event, that takes time. I rely on our Wonderful Counselor, Jesus Christ, to assist me in this process. I would like to walk through your journey with you and guide you in the changes that need to take place in order to restore you to a healthy place. I have a heart for women’s issues such as divorce and marital problems that include infidelity and pornography addictions. I particularly enjoy leading women’s support groups. My background as a school teacher has given me a wide variety of experience in working with children and adolescents. I also enjoy working with those in the criminal justice system. I have experience with the military as an Army wife for 25 years. I understand and can relate to those serving in the armed forces and the hardships family members endure. |
“The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble...He does not ignore the cries of the afflicted.”
Psalms 9:9,12
