Philosophy of Counseling
As a counselor, my role is to provide effective, compassionate care to those who are walking through a season of challenge in their lives. I would describe myself as an advocate of hope in every situation, no matter how dark or complex. I am also a firm believer in truth- telling ourselves the truth, telling others the truth and walking in truth. Through the counseling process, my desire is to help people let go of mindsets and behaviors that are no longer serving them and to empower them to embrace new ways of thinking and acting. In Romans 12:2, the Bible speaks about “being transformed by the renewing of our minds.” And that is exactly what can happen in the life of a person who is invested in the counseling process. I believe that real hope, real healing and real freedom is not only possible but achievable. |
