Art Therapy

What is art therapy?

Art therapy is the incorporation of art making in counseling to facilitate emotional expression and processing. Art is often used as a means of nonverbal communication, assessment, and building creative problem-solving skills. Art therapy is suitable for treating a wide variety of issues including depression, anxiety, and trauma-related disorders. Various materials can be used in art therapy such as painting, drawing, sculpting, and fiber arts. No amount of talent is needed to benefit from art therapy.

This service is provided by Julia Armstrong LPCC ATR.
