Philosophy of Counseling
I believe that every person has value, and every life has a purpose. I consider it an honor to be a part of the healing, redemption, and restoration process, as people examine their lives and experiences. My work is client-centered, strengths-based, and trauma-informed, using already- existing resources to build resilience and growth. Empathy, compassion, integrity, and service drive my interactions with clients. My goal and hope is to provide a safe, non-judgmental space for clients to share openly, be challenged, and make lasting changes. I blend evidence-based practices with Christian principles, to create a holistic approach rooted in the belief that we are whole people, with a body, mind, and soul. I work with children (ages 5 and up), adolescents, and adults. I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). I am passionate about helping people find hope and healing, and I would be honored to walk alongside you as you take that next step toward a full and joyful life. |
“But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. They will be like a
tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat
comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear
fruit.”
Jeremiah 17:7-8
